Assalamo Alaikum respected members
first thank you for such valuable posts and such an informative forum.
I am having 2 problems in my garden
1. Having vines of red grape. During spring growht was great fresh new leaves and many bunches of small fruit visible. In summer, all large leaves (size of hand palm) started turning yellow. Fruits fell to ground. From bunches, I only got 4 large grapes rest all fell down. Even now the vine is having brown patches on leaves, loosing leaves, and producing very few (2-3) new leaves. Please guide.
2. Having araucaria tree since past few years, Alhamdulillah its close to 20 feet height. This summer all of sudden its top branches went brown and dry. My desi mali said its because of heat - strange idea but I agreed. He said chop off the top it will be fine. Now 90% of the branches are brown and appears dying. Only 2-3 new branches with growth on the lowest side of tree. Top all brown and dry.
I showed it to new mali and he said its roots are stuck or constrained by your house foundation walls so cut it down no other choice. I would really like to ask your expert guidance as its very valuable plant and took lot of effort to grow such big.
Jazak Allah for your support and help.

Re: Araucaria tree dying and grapes problem
No idea about your grapes, but it is sad to see a tall tree die this way. We also had tall sarv tree and one day it suddenly titled and within one month or so, the whole tree fell on the ground. The reason was termites. I don't believe your new mali's story. If the roots were restricted, the tree would not die. Search online and see if fungi is the problem for your Araucaria.

The ground water level may be the problem for these deep rooted plants...

Re: Araucaria tree dying and grapes problem
Gentlemen, thank you for your replies.
1. Alhamdulillah Araucaria is now recovering. Brown leaves are drooping down, neew green are coming up. Alhamdulillah. Although this is a problem, as recently on canal I saw a tall araucaria in some building. You could see the tall tree over their wall, it was completely brown and dry. I must research more on this issue.
2. Grapes are recovring, but the bugs attacking them continue. Vine is growing with new leaves and length increasing Alhamdulillah but no sign of fruits now.
Thank you for your help!

Wait and see is a good policy in gardening.
