Yes, we are talking about Khaad, it could be leaf compost patton ki khaad or composted manure gober/ ojhri ki khaad.. remember, none of these Khaad should be smelly... if it is smelly then it is not properly composted or decayed and inappropriate to be used in plants... fresh gober is very harmful for the garden plants...

These compost contain organic materials which have capacity to absorb water and retain it for a while, this moisture holding capacity saves plants from drying out..

i have just checked with the person who prepared bed for me. he told me that there is 3 inches of soil in the bottom then in mid 1 inch of roori (gober khaad) and then uuper layer of 2 inches of bhal. so the fertilizer is already in the soil. he said now no need to fertilize it. as far as water concern. i never wait for the surface o dry up.

i think i chose wrong plants as already mentioned.

whats your opinion. what to do now. just wait and see ??

The bed in which you have planted the American palm is a small space.its better if you mix some peat moss into the soil.replace all plants with spreading annuals like Petunias or verbenas.i think annuals will look more dashing.
